It’s going to be a fabulous fall and we are excited to announce the return of our annual photo contest! We look forward to seeing all the entries by local creators. The contest is supported by Tdot Shots and our sponsors, judges and volunteers. You can get involved!

About the Iconic Toronto Photo Contest
We have held a contest since 2019. Our tagline is “Iconic Toronto: Celebrating the Culture and History of the City through the Lens of Photography.” Every year we award winners and finalists prizes and feature them on our websites and social media. It’s a great opportunity for exposure and a chance to win creative prizes like printing services from our sponsor. Get your work printed and framed!
This amazing city presents so many opportunities for amateur and professionals alike to flex their creative skills, snap photos, edit and submit to our contest. Submission is as simple as using our hashtag #iconictoronto on Instagram, during the contest period. (Full rules announced soon).
How to Enter
It’s easy to enter. Post your photos or images on Instagram during November and use the hashtag #iconictoronto (Optional: Please also follow @tdot_shots, @cntower and @prolabcanada.) Your shots should be taken in Toronto and you should retain the original file in case we request it.
Rules, in summary:
- Post your photos on Instagram during November, 2022
- Use the hashtag #iconictoronto in your caption
- Enter images captured in Toronto
- Retain the original file in case we request it
- Still images only, no time-based media, music, video or reel
- Photo can appear in a carousel
- One photo per image, no collage
- No composites, watermarks or special fx
Note: you can’t backdate your images, IG has a timestamp feature which shows the date you posted. Also place the hashtag in the caption area, not your comments section. Caption is the only location which is easily visible.
Prizes
We are excited to offer a credit for $100 of professional printing services to our 1st place winners courtesy of ProLab Canada. Runner ups (2nd, 3rd place) will receive 2 tickets for general admission to CN Tower (retail value $86).
All finalists receive a feature on our site and/or interview on our blog, and social media and memberships to the Tdot Studio creative community.
Categories
This year the categories for photography submissions will include:
- Architecture & History
- Culture & Street
- Landscape & Cityscape
Our judges will determine which category suits the image best. Generally speaking you can submit almost any kind of photo as the categories are quite broad. Do you have photos of historic landmarks or modern buildings in the Toronto skyline? Did you shoot a special event or interesting scene on the street or at the park? Be sure to submit your photo!
